About Ananya

Ananya Chandhok is a NAFTA College Emmy-nominated filmmaker and a Chicago-based journalist.

She completed her BS in molecular biology at Loyola University Chicago and has loved science ever since.

Her passion then led her to complete her MS in Health, Environment and Science Journalism at Northwestern Medill, where she was also a Comer Climate Reporting Fellow. After finding her niche between the two disciplines, she produced long-form text and visual narratives, which focused on human-centric stories.

Ananya’s work has taken her from Chicago to all across India, focusing on empathetic storytelling.

Her work aims to bridge the gap between the general public, researchers and changemakers, hoping to facilitate conversations and solutions across the communities.

From cicadas to neuroscience to seaweed, she stays true to her roots: the art of science and fact. Click on the recent work tab for Ananya’s reporting.
